You might be wondering what happens to any leftover cakes

We are very lucky to have such a lovely, loyal customer base that keep asking us to provide them with Austrian cakes. Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days with attending weekly markets, farmers markets and deliveries to customers who ordered via our website.

But as with everything, there is no magic formular, and sometimes at ehe nd of a busy market day we end up with some slices of cakes. What happens with these? Before you ask,  No! I don’t end up eating them (even though I do like a special treat now and again).

I am fortunate to be able to donate these to teachers from a near by special needs school and to members of the FB group ‘Urkrainians in Hertfordshire’. If my little slice of Austrian cake creates a little bit of comfort, brings back memories and is a reminder of a special place or person you enjoyed spending time with, then this is more than I have ever imagined a mixture of flour, butter, sugar and chocolate can create.
